How OPAC works for you

For over 12 years, the sustainable growth rate (SGR) proved to be anything but sustainable. Medicare payments affected patient care and jeopardized the future of osteopathic medicine. Then physicians like you supported the Osteopathic Political Action Committee (OPAC), joining voices and creating a unified message so strong, Congress had to take action.

Thanks to OPAC’s diligence – and the support of DOs like you – the “permanent doc fix” was enacted, and a new Medicare payment plan is in place. A plan that prevented the cut to save American physicians over $15 billion or $17,303 each.

But the fight’s not over. OPAC continues to work on issues like Medical Liability Reform, Graduate Medical Education and Physician Scope of Practice, leading the way for the future of osteopathic medicine.

Election season is almost here and it will likely be one of the most competitive elections we have seen. OPAC must be ready and we need your help to keep the profession a leader in Washington.

Contribute and become a member of OPAC. Let’s ensure that physicians drive the health policy discussion - not bureaucratic mandates
